Listed here are members of the Methodist churches in America -- United Methodist and its predecessors, AME, AME-Zion, and CME -- who are also significant in the history of African Americans in this country. Some, such as Harriet Tubman, are prominent historical figures and others are not well-known outside Methodism. The brief biographies here are not comprehensive but are intended to show their links to the church.

The site is being launched with about thirty entries and more will be added as research is completed.
